Climate Prediction Center
Use CPC at NOAA to assess weekly, monthly, seasonal, and extended
long-range climate outlooks. Long-range outlooks take into account current
oceanic conditions along with atmospheric teleconnections around the globe.
Climate Diagnostics Center
Use CDC at NOAA to use plotting tools to analyze
past climate and determine how the atmosphere and ocean are interacting to
produce current weather conditions around the globe. More information about
teleconnections here.
Climate Teleconnection
Resources *NEW*
Useful teleconnection data and overviews on their effects on
the general atmospheric circulation. Teleconnections include tropical and
mid-latitude winds, arctic height patterns, and tropospheric and stratospheric
wave action.
Oceanic Sea Surface
Temperatures
View past and current SSTs and their anomalies. The
strength and placement of SST anomalies worldwide have a profound impact on
global and regional climate via air-sea interaction. ENSO & PDO Indices
here.
